Descendents of Captn Domingo de la Fuente

Hi my name is Jose Santos. I am doing my family tree. On one of the branches is Don Antonio Robles y Fuentes (born ab 1680) I have found that Antonio's father was Don Diego de las Fuentes (He was from Saltillo) and Diego's father was Joseph de las Fuentes (his wife was Luisa Flores de Valdes). Jospeh's parents were Captn. Domingo de la Fuente and Francisca Martinez Guajardo. I have 2 questions. First, Why Antonio Robles y Fuentes switched the lastnames and Who was his mother. I suppose that her lastname was Robles. In Salinas Victoria, NL there are a lot of descendents of Antonio Robles and for sure descendents of Capitan Domingo de la Fuente.
