My husband's family are Fryes in Baton Rouge, LA. They originally came from the northern part of the state. Originally, his line has so far been traced to NC then to Ala then to Miss and then to LA. Although I have many names in my database, I do not see a Claude Alden Frye or your grandmother. I will e-mail you directly with a tree. If you see any names or places that sound familiar, maybe you can go from there. The family name was originally spelled FRY. Perhaps searching in that forum will also be helpful.

Good luck.
