Henry Frye and Ellen Cameron Frye were my great-grandparents. They lived in South Boston, Massachusetts, and had children John Cameron, Robert, Mary Mc, Henry (Harry), Samuel, Flora, Helen, and Henrietta (Etta). I have heard that they returned to Greenock, Scotland, for a time and eventually came back to Boston area again. I have also heard that Henry was a Presbyterian minister. He and Ellen divorced. She remarried to Thomas Spalding (Spaulding?).
Although there has not been luck in finding information on records in Scotland, my father told me that other family names were McKenzie (Mary Mc?) and King (Ellen King Cameron(?)). He also maintained that Ellen's correct name was Helen. These may be clues if you are doing further research in Scotland.
