Yes, your Robert is a brother to that John R., and the reason why Elizabeth is by herself in the 1850 census is because her husband, John, died September 9, 1844. It's very sad that she had to be left by herself with her children. We do not know the cause of his death. I can share a little more with you, and I would like to have your information. Post and let me know if you want to share.
