I'm looking for information on Frye's in and around Fulton Co. , NY and what was the Sacandaga Valley. My family seems to have limited information/memory of our lineage.
My great-grandmother was Ruby Mae Frye. She passed away in the late 1980's in Broadalbin I believe. I don't know many names of her children; my grandfather is Gordon Wesley Frye, Sr. (goes by Jim Frye). I believe he had a brother, John. He has a couple sisters, Elsie & Ruth (who may have married a Vickers?)...my grandfather thinks Gramma Ruby may have been born in or around Northville.
She never married the father of her children, thus passing on her surname. My great-grandfather's last name may be Petis or Pettit.
My grandfather has made mention of an Aunt Belle.
My grandfather was married 3 times. His first wife may have been named Vicki? Last name is unknown to me. They had a daughter, Sandy & 2 sons, Robbie & James. His second wife was Mary Lynch of Gloversville area (who later married Lester Blood). They had 2 sons, Gerald (Jerry) & Gordon Wesley, Jr. (my father). He then married Barbara St. Clair.
Any information would be greatly appreciated-I believe Ruth was the only one who attempted to trace our lineage & she has since passed...I'd love to know more about this side of my family.
