Your John Frye and Margaret Powers are ancestors of mine. They had a son, John Rossiter Frye (also daughters Minnie and Ida Rhodetta Frye). John Rossiter Frye married Myrtle Stricler and they had seven children, including John Rossiter Frye--my grandfather, born in 1895. He grew up in New Alexander, PA, married my grandmother, Clara Jane McAleese in Brownsville, PA. They are both burried in Indiana, PA. As for ancesters of the first John Frye, my info is scant and not reliable. My info has his middle name as Wadsworth. He was born 3/29/1829 in Unity Twnshp, Westmoreland Co, PA. Died 9/23/1909 in Westmoreland Co, PA. Wife (Mary) Margaret Powers, was born Feb 1831 in County Wexford, Kilmore, Millroad, Ireland and died Nov 1894 in Latrobe, PA. John W Frye's father may have been Samuel, born abot 1800, died April 1832 in PA. Samuel's wife was Mary Wadsworth, born 1803 in Carlisle, PA.
