A John Hagerman appears on an early list of lot owners in the town of Athens, Bradford Co PA, ca 1785. He is a very good candidate for your John's father. The other men on the list include a mix of Orange Co, NY natives and members of the CT Susqhenanna Company, including Ethan Allen of Fort Ticonderoga fame. Both of Sarah's parents had connections to the CT group. Have you looked for John Hagaman in the counties that border the Delaware River in NY and PA between Orange and Chemung?

As for the middle name, Hagaman/Hegeman family naming patterns for the group with connections to NY Hudson Valley area, suggest a strong use of the name Isaac, which you probably already know. Interestingly Isaac is also a common name in the Baldwin family, who are well accounted for on the abovementioned list. The Baldwins intermarried with the Haskell family. Jonathan Haskell was the Lt. of the local militia that was commanded by Eliab Farnham, Sarah's grandfather. I doubt these are all coincedences, but if the details can be sorted out is probably another matter.

Good luck, happy hunting and thanks for the info.
