I am a Frye whose Grandfather, Basil Christy Frye, was born in Goldendale in Washington State May 9 1890. His father John F. Frye drowned in the Klickitat River in a logging accident. His brother also died from pnuemonia as he spent days looking for his brother. I don't know his name.
John F. Frye married Mary Elizabeth Whitson.
I don't have a birth or death date for John except that my Grandfather was about 10. I can find Mary Elizabeth in the 1900 Federal Census with my Grandfather and his brothers and sisters but no father.
According to the census, John was born in Ohio.
Perhaps we can help each other.
