I don't know if there is any relation at all, but my husband's uncle was named Robert Frye. Robert was one of several Frye's, most of whom lived around Tacoma, Washington. Robert (my husband's uncle, was born April 13, 1928, and died in October, 1979. You can look up his social security death record at ancestry.com.
While researching those death records, I noticed there was another Rober Frye who was born January 26, 1916 and died October 1966. His last residence was Everett, Washington.
None of the information you listed rings any bells, the only connection is the name Robert Frye. Hope this helps.
