Fryar family lineage-Orson Thomas Fryar?

I've always been interested in the Fryar family tree, and I do have some information, but it's limited and doesn't go back very far...

I've always been told that I'm the 9th or 10th generation with either the first name or middle name "Thomas" ...my father is Steven Thomas Fryar, my gfather is Thomas hugh Fryar and my ggfather was Orson Thomas Fryar...thus far, it seems in my early research that there are a lot of "Thomas Fryar" names, but I'm stuck on which family line to follow...My gfather says that his father lived in the Dakotas for a while...but I cannot find any of his records. Also, the surname "Scott" is also a part of my family lineage...I believe my family originated in England - Northumberland county perhaps? Any assistance, or family history that would lead me in the right direction would be appreciated! Also, I'd love to find any of my distant relatives...any of you out there! I know of a Richard "Dick" Fryar who was a great uncle of mine...HELP please! - Chris Fryar
