Hello,
I recently order a Civil War pension file and discovered it is not for my ancestor, and I would like to send it to someone who is researching this family. On one page of the file it lists the children so I will list them here as I'm hoping someone will be interested in the file.
Children of John E. Fry born 1842 died 1925 and Elizabeth Belcher:
Wilda born 15 Apr 1867
John born 28 Oct 1870
Charles born 8 Dec 1874
Jesse born 9 Sep 1876
Warren born 5 June 1878
Ida born 11 Feb 1880
Myrtle born 31 Jul 1885
George born 28 May 1887
James born 22 Jul 1889
William born 11 May 1890
Ethel born 15 Mar 1896
When John wrote this he was living in Story County, IOWA in Iowa Center. My John Fry also lived in Iowa but in a different county.
I would be willing to send the pension file but as it numbers OVER 100 pages I don't have the entire thing. If a researcher is interested I can send what I have of the file and the form I got for the remaining pages which number around 50, for which the NARA charges 65 PER PAGE in addition to the $75 for the first 100. If you are willing to split the cost for at least the first 100 pages it would be appreciated. The form for the rest has a phone number that you can call and then work out how to pay for those pages AND have them sent to YOUR address rather than mine. If I don't hear from anyone then I guess I'll have to eat the $75 AND the additional $35 and change.
