I down loaded a letter about Froschauer, it was written in German so I had it translated by a friend of mine who has PHD in the German language. He sent me the english version of the letter. He also told me that the Froschauer name was a very old respected name in Germany dating back to the year 1000. The letter tells how a Froschauer was praised for saving the life of a Count with his sword in 1443. Kaiser Maximilian II at a festival of knights in Regensburg in the year 1573 conferred a coat of arms and an official proclamation for the same on Fedinand Froschauer. In 1699 A German Duke replace that coat of arms with a more prestiges coat of arms and stated that every one who carried the Froschauer name may bear this coat of arms in memory of their brave ancestors.
