My ancestor William Robert Frost, b. 7 Jan 1916 in Chatham Co. NC, married Caroline Vandervier b. 1819. I do not know where they met or married. They moved to Franklin Co AL by 1850. She died in 1853 in Lawrence Co AL. and one researcher reports her to be buried in the Bethel Church Cemetery, Lawrence Co. AL. William Robert Frost remarried Margaret Grissom Collier and moved to Itawamba Co MS. He died 11 Feb 1882 in Itawamba Co. MS.

I believe William Robert Frost's father was James Frost b. ca 1777, son of Capt. James Frost b. ca 1742 who fought in the Revolutionary War and probably moved from the NJ/PA area down to Guilford Co NC and then to Johnston Co NC. Capt. James Frost also had a son Ezekiel who was in Stokes Co NC by 1810. Ezekiel had a son by the same name who married Mary A Rosell in Madison Co AL 31 Mar 1835. They lived there in 1840 and 1850. Curiously, in 1850 this Zehiel Frost, as he was known in the 1850 census, apparently lived next to a Sarah Vandever as they are enumerated next to one another! Zehiel may have then moved to Lawrence Co AL because an Ezekiel Frost died in Lawrence Co AL on 22 Sept 1857, aged 57.
