From Germany? to Finland in about 1700?

Hi,
I just only found this Fromholtz site and notice that most of the Fromholtz related persons discussing here are from the US, but I will try my luck that somebody in Europe (Germany?) also pops in and possibly has some information on my case.

The earliest Fromholtzes in Finland appear in the books around 1750 in Hme (inland) and Varsinais-Suomi (south coastline). My 4th ggf was Petter Fromholtz b. 1754, d. 26.1.1834 in Nastola county, Hme province, Finland. At the coastline area the Fromholtzes were mostly blacksmiths or carpenters and in the inland area tailors + farmers in both.

Fromholtz is (nor was) definitely not a common name here. (In Finland familynames were used before about 1850-1900 only in connection with handicraftsmen, soldiers, the clergy and nobility so they are fairly "easy" to detect from the thousands of Johanssons and Ericssons etc.) As far as I know they lived only in these two areas and both most propably started from one person/family who moved to (south coastal) Finland around 1700. Due to the name structure (Fromholtz) alone one would presume their origin to be German (perhaps via Baltic countries or Sweden). Finland had a lot of connections with Germany in those days - specially handicrafts were brought here to serve the needs of Swedish/Finnish nobility.

So, I'm writing this in hope to find traces of my Fromholtz ancestor who came to Finland around 1700. The oldest registered person was Christina (sounds wery Swedish) Fromholdt who died in 1749 and was buried inside the Pohja Church in Jan 1. 1749 at the age of 70 years 2 months (thence born about 1680).

Yours,
Helena Virolainen
