AAA - Some friendly and informal Guidelines

Many unmoderated surname forums have a bit of a problem. Subject
lines are chosen by those who post the messages, and they don't
use good sense when they choose.

Please *Avoid* things like these examples:

"Re: Fromholz family"
"Re: genealogy"
"Can someone help me?"
"Information wanted"

the examples above will not help anyone, and fall
into the "no kidding!" category. Anyone posting on
a genealogy is always looking for or offering
information, about genealogy, and in the case of
this forum, about the Fromholz family and its related
lines, or asking for help.

Please *Use* subjects like these examples:

"Otto Fromholz, b. circa 1750, New Jersey"
"Fromholz ancestors in Hershey Pennsylvania?"
"Descendants of Robert Fromholz, ca 1861, Polzka Netkow?"
"GEDCOM, part 1, Fromholz"

(let's see a lot of GEDCOMs :^)

These types of subjects eschew phrases like "looking
for", "genealogy", "information", "help" and other
superfluosities (is that a word?) and put useful info
that anyone scanning the subject list will be able
to digest easily.

This helps everyone. After all, the subject list is
all that we see when we enter.

Relatively yours,
