You mention Childrey and Denchworth, however, we have been able to trace the name further back to the 1400s, when the earliest ancester we have found took the name Frodesley (after the place where he lived in Shropshire - this may have been something to do with the Crusades and the fact that our ancestor fought in them and was given land in this area as a result - uncertain of this though), before decendants moved to the former places. Frodesley was also known as Foddesle I believe.

I believe the name was 'shortened' to Frogley (being easier to say/pronounce.
