The Froese Familie of Nidden, Memelland,
Posted by: Hans-Joerg Froese, Cologne, Germany Date: January 30, 2001 at 13:20:49

I have been exploring my heritage and have found that our Froese Family roots came from East Prussia. The village was called Nidden. Today it's called Nida and it's a part of Lithuania.
Nida is and was a sleepy little fishing village and during summer a favorite holiday area.

I've made a family-tree up to about 1765. Before the family should settled in Friesland?? They should removed to East-Prussia (during the spanish-inheritance-war in the protestant Netherlands), because they were mennoites??

Who knows someting more or additional details?
Please send information with email.
