V.L. Fric - possibly Vladmir/Vladimer - later might have changed to Fritz

I'm looking for any information on my great-grandfather, V.L. Fric. His first name might have been Vladmir/Vladimer and later might have changed his last name to Fritz. He was married to Josephine Malek. They had four children: Joseph Fric, Margaret Rose Fric-Adrion(?), Elaine Fric-Kruse, and my grandmother Marcella Marie Fric-Rasmussen. My grandmother's birth certificate states that she was born on Feb. 1, 1923 in Garner, Iowa. It also says that her father: V.L. Fric was born in Bohemia. Hopefully someone out there might be able to shed more light on him and what happened to him later in life.
