I descend from William Fritz, oldest son of Amanual and Sarah (Combs) Fritz. Sarah died in 1865. She is buried near Waco, KY, where many descendants of William and Sarah still live. According to family lore, the children were disgusted when Amanual married Caroline "Kaline" in 1874 because she was their age. In fact, William got married that same year. Amanual and Kaline took off for Oklahoma Territory, perhaps even participating in the Great Land Rush, I don't know. Amanual had cousins in Sedgewick Co. Kansas, the Watts and Craft families, children of his Aunt Susannah Fritz Watts. I don't know if they influenced his decision or not. Anyway, they settled in Beaver County (now Texas County) Oklahoma, near Guymon. They had one son named George, who became a judge. George and Hattie (Edwards) had four children. The name of all descendants is spelled Frittz. You can find them in the 1900, 1910, and 1920 censuses that way. I tried several times to make contact with that branch, but have received no responses. I assembled a family tree for them based on records I found online, but would love to check it with them. Amanual is buried near Liberal Kansas, only a few miles away. I am not sure where Kaline is buried, perhaps in Guymon. Notify Administrator about this message?
