My gr grandfather was Wilhelm Daniel Fritze.
Came to US in 1845 with parents Johan G Fritze & Catherine Becher Fritze. Sailed from
Bremerhaven aboard the vessel "John Dethhart" chartered by colonists to take them to Indianola, Texas. Wilhelm was youngest of 5 children. Arrived in Indianola in l846. Both parents died in cholera outbreak shortly after arrival. He was raised by the Ernest Houy,Sr family. Have information to share on his descendants. Very interested in information on his siblings and parents and grandparents. Grandparents were Jokeb Fritze and Anne Katherina who remained in Germany.
Anyone out there with information about this family? Wilhelm changed his name to William, servedin the Confederate Army and was a Texas Ranger.
