Dave, what I have on Capt. John Fripp of "Homestead" or "Big House" plantation, St. Helenaville and Beaufort. Born 1792 in SC; married Caroline E. Chaplin and then Elizabeth McKean. He died 10-30-1865 and was an Episcopalian. He was a Justice of the Peace and a State Representative. He was from St. Helena's Parish, Beaufort District. He is not in my family line, but William Fripp is thru marriage to a Prentiss. I found that a good many of my Prentiss relatives are buried in the St. Helenas Epis. Church Yard. You may find Capt. John there as well.
