My husband is a FRIIS born in HAMBURG, Germany 1950 and is the 1st immigrant to the US that we know of. His line traces back to his father Carl Gerhard Friis b 1929 to Walter Gerhard Friis b 1902 to Gerhard August Friis b 1873 to Georg Ferdinand Wilhelm Friis b 1835(all born in Hamburg or Schleswig-Holstein) back to Georg Hansen Friis to Hans Friis (both born in Denmark).George Hansen moved to Germany and married in Muelheim an der Ruhr in 1834 but then moved back to Schleswig-Holstein. Do these names appear in anyone's family? thanks.
