I've recently realized (after many years of searching) that I desend from Mary Fenn (dau. of Zacharias Fenn) and Amos Daniel (son of Nathan Daniel who d. in 1809 in Putnam Co., GA).

The son's of Mary Fenn and Amos Daniel migrated out of Washington Co. GA between 1820 & 1835 - settling in Monroe Co., AL. In the Monroe Co., AL 1830 census, James Daniel is listed w/wife (Lydia Davis) next to William Whitehead (bro. of Nancy Whitehead that married John Gayle who became Gov. of AL).

A few pages previous, in the 1830 census is John Davis (father of Lydia Davis), Adam Carson (Jr.), Samuel Bradford, and Thomas Newman. Thomas Newman's brother, John Newman dies in 1838 and leaves in his Will, some money to the orphans of "John Fryer".

Some of the families who intermarry with the Davis' were the Lambert's of Burke Co. GA. The Lambert brothers married in Burke Co - Abgail Davis, b 1784 and Winnie Davis, b. 1786. I believe that these Davis woman are related to John Davis, b. 1787 (Lydia's father, listed above).

I'm thinking that this John Fryer would be too young to be the husband of Winnie Fenn - but, he could be the son of Winnie Fenn & John Fryer.

An abstract of the Will of John Newman (son of Thomas Newman and Elizabeth Bush):
Executors: Arthur Pendleton Bagby (past Gov.) and John W. Moore.
Gives land on Alabama River to 4 oldest children of Peter Randon.
Give land to bro. Thomas Newman and one part to be given to "my relatives the children of the Late John Fryer" and one part to Sarah Ann Miles dau. of Eliza and Philip Miles.

So, I'm very curious if this John Fryer might the connected to the Fenn's in Burke Co., GA

Many thanks - Ruth in Portland, OR
