John Friend, son of Isaac Friend, of Dregget, MA, was born Jan. 2nd, 1826, in Sheldon (now Java), Wyoming Co., NY, and married HARRIET A. TWISS, daughter of Moses Twiss, of Charlton,MA, Oct. 7th, 1852. He is a farmer and produce dealer, and lives at Currier's Corners, on the farm where his father settled in 1821. The elder Friend is living. He came from Massachusetts, and was one of the men prominent in the construction of the Attica and Allegany Valley Railroad.
