Any relations? My father in law, Robert G. Friel born around 1921 in Brooklyn has told me the following:

His father was Harold George Friel. Born in Bklyn. He had eight sisters, no brothers. His mother died when he was very young. His fathers name was George Washington Friel, born on February 22, in Bklyn. He was the Democratic Leader of the largest aldermatic district in the city ( now called assembly disticts ). His are consisted of South Bklyn., Red Hook, Downtown Bklyn, Boro Park, Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Coney Island to the best of my knowledge.

Most of the Friel family are buried in the Holy Cross cemetary inBklyn., including Grandpa George his brother Billy , my Father and most of the females of the family.

There is one thing you should know, I was told by my Grandma Lilly and cousins that Billy Friel my Grandfathers brother had two familys. One is Bklyn and one in Philadelphia.

When he was in the hide and skin importing business with my Grandfather, Billy spent a lot of timein Philly., I was a large importing location for hides and skins, to supply the number of shoe & leather purse manufacturers in the area. Billy died before George and afetr Grandpa George died the rest of the family sold the business to a company in Philadelphia. I know this much because my father worked with this company as a consultant for several years, at which time we lived in Upper Darby, Pa.
