Gerard,
I was in Fanad over the last few weeks and inquired re Friels in Drumfad from an uncle of mine who lives about 3 - 4 miles from Drumfad. He says that he remembers that there were Friels there many years ago, but that they are no longer there. As my uncle is 88, I suspect that those Friels may have moved away about 50 years ago or more. I passed through Drumfad quite a few times during my stay in Fanad. It is quite a picturesque area in the southern end of the Fanad peninsula, overlooking Mulroy Bay, an inlet of the Atlantic.
