I am searching for the ancestry of Robert Heinrich Friedrich. Robert Heinrich Friedrich was born February 28, 1876. His family was originally from Germany and emigrated to Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, where Robert was apprenticed as a Ship's draftsman and was also an accomplished artist. Robert married Anne Kelsey from Scotland and they had four children. The three children born in Newcastle Upon Tyne were Hilda, William Bernard, and Margaret Friedrich. William Bernard Friedrich, my grandfather, was born September 3, 1910. The family emigrated to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada along with other relatives. Robert Heinrich Friedrich worked as a surveyor in Edmonton, possibly for the Hudson Bay Company. A fourth child was born but the mother, Anne Kelsey, suffered complications from birth and died. The child died not long afterwards. The family moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada where Anne Kelsey's family owned a large factory. The family then moved to Detroit, Michigan.
