Julius Louis, Max, Moses and Samuel Friedman
I am trying to locate anyone in New York City who might be able to help me.According to my Great Grandfather's 1900 Census record he was living in emigrated to the US around 1879 - 1885, as a young man.By 1888 he had a daughter named Rose Rebecca (I can't find her birth cert, but have her death cert and it says 1 Sep 1888 New York, NY) and he was married to a Mollie _____.Not sure of family name. Her San Francisco death certificate in 1912 says that he father was Joseph RABONICH and her mother was Ribe Arbenchik. My Great Aunt Rose says, on her Social Security Application that her mother's family name was Verbetick.
Any, here in San Francisco just after the turn of the century (1900) Max, Moses, Samuel and Louis Friedman all lived at the same address - 39 Minna Street -- and this can't possibly be a coincidence!Louis's first name was Julius, but according to my grandfather, he preferred (and went by) Louis. He arrived in New York around 1879ish at Castle Garden, rather than Ellis Island.
Is there anyone in NYC who would be willing to assist me find (1) my great-grandparents marriage record and (2) my great-aunt Rose Rebecca's birth certificate?I would be most grateful for this assistance.
Also, does anyone know what "T.O. Brith Abraham" might be?
I have been looking for years to find information on my great-grandfather, and have little to no luck, what-so-ever.Thank you for reading this somewhat lengthy message and any help would be appreciated.
