Harry Fridley Sentenced; Six Months in Workhouse
In Criminal Court No. 2, today Justice Barnard sentenced Harry Fridley, a white boy, eighteen years old, to six months in the workhouse.Fridley was before the court to be arraigned on an indictment charging him with grand larceny in having taken from the Washington, Alexandria, and Mt. Vernon railroad, April 1, three coils of copper wire, valued at $30 each, and three check plates, valued at $1 each.Fridley offered to plead guilty to petit larceny, which was accepted by the Government.
