Hi Jerry: Its been some time since I scanned the Fridell page and I was surprised to find your posting saying that your Great Grand Father was Isaac Fridell from Northern Alabama. My Grand Father was Isaac Wesley Fridell from Guntersville, Alabama. He had nine children - only two boys - the rest girls. One son was named George Bertie Fridell and the other was named Thomas Sherman Fridell. I knew George Bertie, who lived in Chattanooga, Tenn. but the other son - Thomas Sherman left home at an early age - probably about 15 years old - after an argument with his father, Isaac. Thomas Sherman was never heard from again by any member of the family and where he went or what happened to him is unknown. It is possible that Thomas had a son that he named Isaac, and that is the Isaac that you say is the father of John. Just speculation.
It is also possible that there were two Isaac Fridells in Northern Alabama, but I find that a little hard to believe since the name Fridell is not a very common name.
My Grand Father - Isaac Wesley Fridell - was born in Union County, Georgia, the son as Charles Wesley Fridell and Mariah Jane Youndblood. He was born in 1850 and lived to the ripe old age of 93 dying in 1938. I only saw him one time when I was about 5 years old and at that time he was close to death and we never spoke to each other. He was a Civil War Vet fighting on the Union side. I have his military records.
I have tried on numerous occasions to tract down the Fridell Family, but have only gotten back to Charles Wesley Fridell - Isaac's Father. The 1850 census for Union County, Georgia, list Charles Wesley Fridell and his wife Jane with several of their children - Isaac being one of them. I would like to explore our possible relationship if you are interested. Please contact me at my E-mail address. Thanks Ted
