Hi Carole
I hope this message can still get to you. Calvin Finley Friddle was the son of my g g g grandmother Disy Day Friddle.
The family was from Caldwell County, North Carolina. Disy had two kids with George Friddle but had two older children by another union (don't know the name of that person). Those two girls were Elizabeth Day and my g g grandmother Harriett Caroline Day Friddle who married Wylie R. Bryant in Caldwell County, NC. Some of the Family Trees on Ancestry are showing Barbara Friddle as being Disy's daughter. I don't think that is correct as Disy's sister; Mary Dica Day was also married to a George Friddle and they had one child; Barbara Friddle. Barbara and her husband took the young daughter of Disy and Geogre Friddle in after Disy died. It show in the 1870 census that Martha (I think that was the little girls name) is living with Barbara and her family.

I would love to get information from you as to your Friddle family as my Bryant's ended up in District 1, in Shelby County, Tn also. My mother was born there and didn't leave the area until she was twelve years old when her family moved to New York City. They never returned to the Memphis area.

Hope to hear back from you.

Susan Mulledy
