Hello:
My name is Brian Fricker who actually grew up in Neil's Harbour. My Great Great grandfather was James Fricker as well. My Great grandfather is Joseph Fricker. I could attach a PDF file with some information on our Great Great grandmother(Mary Elizabeth Hannams)who lived to 98 years old and seemed to be a well known citizen. As well it contains some information on their children. Interesting to note that Walter isn't on the list as there are a couple of names my sister couldn't find. My e-mail is [email protected]. I am moving this summer so if we change internet companies I can give you my new address.
From the information I have James came from England (Zeals, Wiltshire) which is near stonehenge. His wife is buried in Neil's Harbour at St. Andrews Anglican church. I had a look for his grave when I was home this May but I was unable to find it. There are several unmarked graves in the cemetary so he may be in one of those. I may ask some older people in the village this summer when I go home to see if they have any recollection of where he was buried.
On a more personal note I was wondering if you could answer a question for me. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2000 and I am going to be part of a study on MS to determine family links, etc. I am the only person in my family who has MS so I was wondering if anyone in your direct family has it? The only family ties to James in Neil's Harbour are through Joseph Fricker. There is another link through Andrew, Frederick, John or Theodore?? in Ingonish Nova Scotia (Near Neil's Harbour) who also have no MS that I know of.
Anyway, that is all the information I have. Talk to you soon.
