"Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 26, at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Sophia Haberman at the Calvary Baptist Church in Esterville, Ia. The Rev. G.O. St. Lawrence and Rev. Bernard Frey, Mrs. Haberman's brother officiated. The organist was Miss Anna Koehler and Mrs. Gary McQuown was the soloist. Interment was in the Eastside Cemetery at Estherville. Pallbearers were Willard Friesner, Virgil Friesner, Fred Fitzgerald, and Jack Giles, Fletcher Knotts and John McManness. Sophia Nellie Frey, daughter of John and Emma Frey was born February 12, 1898 at Forreston, Illinois. She and Frank Haberman were married on April 11, 1921 at Worthington. After their marriage the Habermans farmed in the Lime Creek and Fulda areas. In 1942 they moved to Estherville, Ia. In Estherville she was employed most recently at Stafford's. Mrs. Haberman, 73, passed away on Wednesday, June 23 at the Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, Iowa after an illness of a year and a half. She is survived by eight sons and daughters, including, Cyril Haberman in the Marine Corps at Quanica, Va.; Leland Haberman at Sioux Falls; Donald Haberman, Estherville; Mrs. Elmo Langfeldt (Elvera), Spencer, Iowa; Mrs. Roy Wilhelms (Marie), Estherville; Mrs. Elmer Peterson (Loretta), Farmington, Minn.; Mrs. Raymond Rosburg (Mildred), Estherville; and Mrs. Eleanor Reighard of Estherville, and 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Other survivors are her sisters and brothers, Mrs. Loretta Fiedler of Pipestone, Mrs. Harry Melius of Estherville, Mrs. Grace Christenson of Dundee, Perry Frey of Pipestone, John Frey of Mankato, the Rev Bernard Frey of Wells, Simon Frey of Estherville, and Hiram Frey of Port Angeles, Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one grandson." NOTE: JOHN FREY IS BURIED IN PRAIRIE HILL CEMETERY - FULDA, MN - WITH IS 2ND WIFE, BENA.
