FREW Old and New Monkland.

I believe my ggg grandmother was Jane FREW born around 1822 (in the 1851 census in Cambusethan she was Jeannie LEGGAT, 29 born in Old Monkland)One of her daughters had the name Isabella.

I don't know who her parents were and in the IGI there were two possibilities, no doubt amongst others. Nevertheless there seem to be many FREW families in the area in the 19th century. The name Jane and Isobel/Isabelle, etc. seem common so it is my guess that the people are closely connected.

Interested in finding out more about those FREWs, as I know very little. Jane Frew's name was given as a first and second name to grandchildren and great grandchildren, including my grandmother.

cheers,

a

Never the less, there seem to be many Frew families
