Shaw Frew, the grandfather emigrated with his wife and 2 children from Ireland to E. Lampter township< Lancaster Co. He died about 1870. He married Eleanor Butler, a d/o an Englishman, resident of Ireland, and the sister of an English officer in the Navy. The family of Shaw and Eleanor; David, James, Mary the wife of Isaiah "McKillips" William C., Shaw W., a resident of Vineland, NJ., George B., and "Melisena", the wife of B. C. Weaver.

William C., aka Squire, of Paradise township,was born in 1842 (Feb. 18). He had a colorful career during the Civil war. He was a magistrate for about 30 years. He marred March 21, 1866 to Susan Hull, d/o George and Sidney (Pellen) Hull. Children; Harry, George, Ross, Edith and May. Member of the Presbyterian church.

Dr. George W. H. Frew, son of William C., was born Oct. 13, 1871. Studied medicine at the U. of Penn. He married March 24, 1897 to Emma Overley, d/o Samuel. They had one child, Charles Truman.
