Hello Ed: I had about given up hope of ever learning anything about Roseanna Frew Ross. The only family records that exist to my knowledge noted that she married Stephen Ross. The information about her was contained in an 1863 family history letter, which contained the folowing statement: "My aunt Rosanna was married to Steven Ross, who emigrated to New Madrid, Missouri in the early part of this century where they remained until the place was destroyed by an earthquake. They then went further [sic] South, I know not where." I have been researching my "Randalstown Frew Family" for a number of years and have considerable information about the family. I have also been researching other Frew families as I encounter them so as to differentiate them from the descendants of my Randalstown Frews. Consequently, I have information (far from complete) concerning the descendants of about 30 male, immigrant Frews in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Roseanna (or Roseannah) was one of eight children of John Frew who came to the Colonies in 1774, from Randalstown, County Antrim, Ireland, with his family and four siblings. There are records of a Frew family presence in Randalstown for over 100 years. Fathers conveyed a mill lease from the O'Neil's to a son at least twice by Last Will and Testament during the late 1690s and 1730s. The brothers were Alexander and James; and thtwo sisters, Ann and Harriet. Alexander was my gggg-grandfather who traveled with a pregnant wife (my ggg-grandfather born in Baltimore, Maryland) and one young son. The youngest brother was James Frew, who was unmarried at the time as were the two sisters. The two younger brothers reportedly fought several engagements with Revolutionary milita from Pennsylvania. John, the eldest, operated a supply pack train between Franklin County, Pennsylvania and Fort Pit. John purchased a warrant for 100 acres of land in 1785 about three miles southwest of Fort Pit where he built a three story stone home and an adjacent two story stone spring house circa 1790. The home is one of two pre-1800 stone homes in Pittsburgh that are still lived in today. I would very much like to obtain a copy of the bible records and any family information you would be willing to share with me about the family of Stephen and Roseannah. I would be willing to share my information on John's family. Let's discuss this further via e-mail. Bill Frew in Dallas, Texas.
