I have an Albert Freund (Friend) mentioned in an oral history provided by my grandmother decades ago, and I have never attempted to document it. This Albert Freund is the son of Eliza M. Eckert and her husband John Freund. Eliza was born in 1847 and lived in Auburn, NY. I do not know the date of her marriage, the date of this Albert's birth, or where they lived after their marriage, but Pennsylvania is just next door. My grandmother believed the family may have Anglicized Freund to Friend.
