My gr-grandparents came to the US in 1852 from Baden GY. Somehow the eventually got to Covington KY, per the 1860 US Census. They were:
Johann Georg FREUND, b. 19 Nov 1826 @ Obrigheim, Baden
Christina Barbara SCHMIDT, b. 4 Nov 1831 @
Neckarbischofsheim, Baden
Children:
Emma, b. 1852; m. Alexander D. Pierce
George William, b. 1855; m. Anna Francis Hosmer
Cooney, b. 1856, d. 1860
Jacob, b. 185?
Henry, b. 185?
Charles, b. 1859
Sometime around 1865, the name became FRIEND.
The family was in the 1870 US Census of Seville OH.
There were more children:
Anna, b. 1862; m. Orrie Pierce
John M., b. 1864; m. Elsie M. Weile
Albert K., b. 1867; m. Mamie W. Wessloh
Louis L., b. 1869; m. Elizabeth L. Rodda
Augustus, b. 1870; m. Anna (?)
William, b. 1872
I have more info about them in later years, so I am searching for anyone who may have any information that might tie in to any of the above.
