MRS. AEKA (CAMPEN) FRERICKS
JANUARY 28, 1910
Mrs. Aeka Frericks, for many years a resident of Chatsworth, died on Saturday (Jan.21) morning at the county farm at Pontiac at the addvanced age of 91 years.
Aeka Campen was born Novermber 11, 1818, in Westerenda, Ost Friesland, Germany. She came to America with her husband in 1872 and came directly to Chatsworth, where Mr. Frerichs was engaged as a cobbler in the establishment of Henry Wrede until the time of his death, which occurred on January 27, 1887. Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Frerichs resided alone in their cottage home, in the southeast part of town, until about ten years ago, when she went to the county farm, where she had since been cared for.
The remains were brought to Chatsworth on Saturday and the interment was at the Chatsworth cemetery.
Note: Her husband's obit was entered with the name spelled Frerichs, so this could be the correct spelling.
