I recently came across two photos of French family members from Iowa. I believe the photos are of John French b. abt 1830 in England (lived in Canada as well) and his wife Jane. The photo was taken in Cherokee Iowa prior to 1900 it appears. Certainly in the period 1880 - 1900. The second photo is of Merle French who is listed on the back of the photo as the son of G F. I have located a Merle French, born abt 1894 who was the son of George French and was living in Marcus, Iowa .... where this photo was taken. So, I believe I have the correct family. I would be glad to scan these photos for anyone interested.
