Burton French, son of Ira and Sylvia French, was born Jan. 25th, 1817, at Doster, Bennington Co., VT. In 1825 he removed with the family of his stepfather to Warsaw, Genesee Co.,NY, and came to Bennington, Wyoming Co.,NY in 1837. Sept. 7th, 1831, he was married to MARY A. FARGO, daughter of Palmer and Caroline Fargo, of Warsaw,NY. He is a farmer and an extensive dealer in livestock and wool. He has been justice of the peace, and held other offices in the gift of his townsmen.
