Do you know if your FRENCH line had connections in Orange County, Indiana in the early 1800's? I have seen data that shows a few did settle there. I had some ancestors with that surname in their background who also settled there, including neighboring Lawrence County. Also, I know this is a long shot, but my SHORT ancestor, John Short (b. 1756), a Revolutionary soldier, settled in Lawrence Co. with his family around 1818. Just trying to help with these surnames who at one time settled in that part of Indiana.
