I'm very interested in your project. I also am a decendant of we believe a Peter French and Nancy Hanks French.
In the 1850 census Kentucky we find these two in Kentucky. We also find our gggrandfather Andrew Jackson French and Nancy Hardin French, married in Knox Co. Tennesse living with a brother George W. French and wife Phebe, both couples have sons living with them by the name of William. We find Peter and Nancy French living close by. We have no proof to connect them to Peter yet, we are hoping someone does.
I have some pictures I found in the library of George W. French's son George Reese French.
If this ties in with anyone, I would appreciate knowing and I would gladly help with research.
