BEARDSTOWN - Viola Louise Parks French, 95, of Beardstown died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, at Heritage Manor South in Beards-town. She was born Dec. 13, 1910, in Beardstown, the daughter of Charles Allen and Nellie Henderson Parks. She married Merrill French in 1927 in Crown Point, Ind.; he died in 1987. Mrs. French was a farmer's wife, housekeeper and baby sitter and worked in a candy factory, coat factory, greenhouse, school cafeteria in Winnamac, Ind., and in laundry service, where she pressed white shirts. She was a housekeeping supervisor in a facility for the mentally impaired in her later years picked blueberries near Holland, Mich., for 12 years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Beardstown and Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice, serving as a hospice caregiver. Survivors: many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, First Christian Church, Beardstown, the Rev.
