Hi.I'm not related, but am interested. My church, Smithfield Church of Christ, had as one of its founders in the late 1880's U. M. French of Tarrant County, Texas. He's buried about 2.5 miles south of my home at Bedford Cemetery (b. Feb. 12, 1850, d. Oct. 24, 1895).Buried beside him is Josiah T. French (Nov. 20, 1820-Oct. 13, 1878) and Martha E. French (Jan. 7, 1833-Feb. 25, 1875, wife of J. T.).There are lots of others, including James M. French (July 23, 1843-Sept. 12, 1918, Co. I, 4th Ala Cav, CSA) and his wife, Sarah F. French.I know that Sarah, and possibly JMF too, received a Confederate pension from the state. If you're descended from these folks, or have other info about them, I'd like to hear from you.Thanks.
