Re: Thomas French I (b.1616-Nether Heyford, Eng) to ALL Frenches who ended up in Jefferson County T
THOMAS FRENCH III and JANE ATKINS had a daughter, HANNAH FRENCH, from whom I descend. Hannah was born in 1669 at Nether Hayford, Northhampton, England. She married Richard Buzby on August 30, 1695 in Burlington Co., New Jersey and died there apparently during the early 1700s according to the information I have found. Hannah and Richard's children were born in Philadelphia,PA. Son THOMAS BUSBY was born in October of 1696, JOHN BUSBY about 1698, and daughters JANE BUSBY and REBECCA BUSBY in 1704. Jane Busby married Johnathon Fincher 1731, at Londongrove,Twp., Chester PA. The family moved to Orange Co., NC although each must have returned to their place of birth before or at death. One of their children, BENJAMIN FINCHER, born in 1740 Chester, PA, married Louisa M. McQueen, born in 1744 at Chester, PA.This couple's daughter, HANNAH FINCHER, was born about 1769 at Chester, PA and died in Randolph County, NC in 1856.This Hannah married Richard Graves of Randolph Co., NC. One of their children was BENJAMIN GRAVES who apparently married thrice. He and Nancy Wooleaner were the parents of QUEEN JENNIE GRAVES (m. James Cox) and JAMES OSBORNE GRAVES.James Osborne Graves migrated to Boone Co., IN where he married Martha Ann Ballard and had a son, Joseph and a daughter, Betty.JOSEPH GRAVES married Belle McCreight and had 2 daughters, MARTHA and LAURA (married Kennith Shoaf). There were 6 grandchildren.BETTY GRAVES married Grant Smith. (She was widowed and later remarried but there were no children from the second marriage.)This pair's only child, MAURINE PEARL SMITH married William Willis Wallace. They had 6 children. RUSSELL OSBORNE WALLACE was the eldest child and only son. He married Berniece G. Underwood of Howard Co., IN and this couple had 5 children (me included here). I have 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren. For anyone interested, I can provide quite a bit more information on this branch of Thomas French III's descendants.
