My grandfather was Porfírio de Freitas, originally from Paredes de Coura in Minho, Portugal, born 1904. He married Rosa Esteves and lived in Valença, also in Minho. They had eight children, with 6 of them eventually emigrating to Toronto, Canada and two to France. In the 1930's or 1940's, he went to Lisbon and had a relationship with a woman with whom he had children. I believe this lady was of African origin and I think of the children was Lionel. He stayed with this mistress until he had a construction accident and lost his right arm. He left Lisbon at this point and return to Minho, to my grandmother. I'm searching for the children and descendents of my grandfather in Lisbon. Let me know if you have any info!
Meu avô era Porfírio de Freitas, originalmente de Paredes de Coura no Minho, Portugal, nascido em 1904. Casou com Rosa Esteves e viveu em Valença do Minho. Tiveram oito filhos, com 6 deles eventualmente emigrando a Toronto, Canadá, e dois para a França. Nos anos 1930 ou 1940, foi a Lisboa e teve um relacionamento com uma mulher com quem ele teve mais filhos. Acredito que esta senhora era de origem africana e eu penso em que um dos filhos se chamava Lionel. Permaneceu com esta senhora até que ele teve um acidente de construção e perdeu o seu braço direito. Partiu de Lisboa a este ponto e voltou ao Minho, e á minha avó. Procuro os filhoss e descendentes do meu avô em Lisboa. Contactem-me se sabem de algo.
