The above named was my great-grand father. I am/was told that his father(or his fathers' father) was one of three [or more] brothers who departed from Madiera on the Ravenscroft ship to go to Brazil [to buy land], but when the ship stopped at the port in St.Vincent [West Indies] settled there instead and bought land.

Told his mother was Mary Mageline Da Costa, who married De Freitas, and after her husband died, re-married Da Santos.

Never knew the names of the other two brothers, but was told one may have settled in Trinidad, and the other, who knows.
