I have a lot of informaiton in my data base and I would need more information to make a match. Things like what your granmothers name was and if your mother had any siblings are all imortant in finding ancesters.

I do find a Manuel Freitas in the 1900 Federal Census in Hawaii who was born in Portual in November of 1877. The cencus list his wife as Ascostos however the hand writting is a little difficult to read for her first name so I might not have her first name spelled correct. You might want to look at the census page yourself which is Kauai County, ED72, District Hanalei on Page 19B, Sheet 7B line 34.

There no short cuts to finding ancesters but with enough clues togeather you will find them.
