With those surnames they surely come from Spain, not from Portugal. Freire and Paz are Galician surnames, Serrano is Spanish and Arrechea is Basque without doubt.

Maybe in the time of Chile's independence was fancier to have a non-spanish origin, but I would try to find more in Spain.
